Davidson fund created at AHMC

Image    CARIBOU — On the occasion of his retirement as chief executive officer from the Aroostook Mental Health Center and in recognition for his outstanding service to the community, the AMHC Board of Directors has established the Wesley R. Davidson Endowment Fund commemorating the longtime administrater’s unwavering dedication to achieving AMHC’s charitable goals.      The fund will advance AMHC projects and services to support AMHC to meet its mission of service to the community in the delivery of mental health, substance abuse, speech and language and brain injury services in the communities AMHC serves.  
    Davidson retired after 35 years’ of service, 17 as CEO, as only the third chief executive in AMHC’s 45-year history, leaving behind a legacy of achievement and earning high regard from peers and colleagues in Maine, the nation and internationally for his collaborative approach to leadership and commitment to service excellence.  
    Davidson joined AMHC in 1974 and was instrumental in building the array of services AMHC provides. Today, the agency offers a full continuum of emergency, urgent and routine assessment, treatment and recovery services for individuals in need of mental health, substance abuse, speech and language, and brain injury services in Aroostook, Washington, and Hancock counties.  AMHC serves more than 5,600 individuals annually.
