To the editor:
On September 19, my family and I held our first annual Scholarship Poker Run in memory of our son Mark D. LeBlanc. We had people from Fort Kent all the way down to Saco come to Caribou to participate in this event. I would also like to thank many local businesses who donated items that were used as door prizes. They include Caribou Food Trend, Plourde & Plourde, Gary’s Auto Sales, County Sports, Caribou Shop ‘n Save, Frederick’s Southside, Presque Isle Food Trend, S.W. Collins, Reno’s Pizza, Leo’s Citgo, Highway Tire, Cary Medical Center, Sports Inn, Red’s Motor Sports, Pines Health Services and Pepsi. We would like to give a special “thank you” to the American Legion Riders of Caribou for helping to organize this event, and the Caribou Police Department who escorted the riders throughout the Poker Run.
Again, thank you to everyone who helped plan, organize and facilitate this Poker Run, and a big thank you to all the riders who participated. We are planning on having the second annual Scholarship Poker Run in August, 2010. We hope to see you there.
