CARIBOU – Edward J. Trombley, 85, died December 9, 2009 at Caribou. He was born at Caribou, January 10, 1924, the son of Frank and Mary (Michaud) Trombley. He was educated in the Caribou school system. Ed served with the US Army during WWII. He was a custodian for the Limestone School Department for several years until his retirement. He was a life member of the Lister-Knowlton Post #9389 VFW and was a life long resident of Caribou.
He is survived by four sons, Nathan Ewer of Bangor, Philip Trombley, Steven Trombley and Jeff Trombley all of Caribou; two daughters Judy Trombley of Presque Isle and Karen Mriss of Delaware; one brother Harold Trombley of Scarborough; one sister Gertrude Wright of Caribou; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister Rose Trombley.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, Monday, December 14, 2009 from 11 a.m. until time of services, with military services held at 11 a.m. by the officers and members of the VFW. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. from the chapel of the funeral home, with the Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie and Edward’s oldest son Nathan, officiated.
