Members of the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department recently held their annual Employee Recognition Night on Dec, 1.

The Annual Recognition Night for members of the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department was held Tuesday,Dec. 1, at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center. During the evening affair, members were recognized for their years of unselfish service and dedication given to the area communities the department covers.
“All members of the department were recognized for their years of service and willingness to give of their time and life to help others in the communities of Caribou, New Sweden, Perham, Westmanland, Connor, Stockholm, Woodland, the Madawaska Lake area and Loring, which we serve,” stated Caribou Fire Chief Roy E. Woods.
During the annual event CFD Lt. Lance Longley was promoted to the rank of Captain and also received an award for achieving the most roll calls in the Paid Call Force.
Firefighter Scott Susi was recognized for having the most callbacks on the Fulltime Force.
According to Chief Woods the following volunteer firefighters were recognized for completing the Future Firefighter Program and joining the Volunteers Force. Those completing the future firefighter program included: Chad McCarthy, Steven Guerrette, Lance Longley, Brandon Doody and Derrick LaMothe.
Newest volunteer members also recognized during the annual dinner and recognition evening were Jesse Belanger, Justin Nadeau, Matthew Randall and Boyd Spencer.
