Santa came to town Friday evening, not in a snowstorm but in a torrential downpour and strong winds, but the annual visitor from the North Pole arrived right on time, catching a ride in a Caribou fire truck to the tree ceremony where he and Mrs. Claus, with a lot of encouragement from a large group of kids (young and old) magically lit the city’s Christmas tree. Santa then grabbed a return ride to the fire station. While Mrs. Claus handed out bags of holiday surprises, Santa listened to the Christmas wishes of a very long line of eager visitors.

I don’t know Santa, I’m thinking maybe some books and a new doll. Cayden Guerrette, 18-months, was one of the many visitors Santa greeted during his recent visit to the Caribou Fire Department. More Santa to print in an upcoming edition of the Aroostook Republican.
