To the editor:
The Caribou Sesquicentennial Committee would like to invite all members to a wrap-up meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 28 (today). It will be held at 4 p.m. in the Caribou Room of the Caribou Public Library. The meeting should be brief, and refreshments will be served. Come help us to put the ribbon on this year’s celebration!
We would also like to remind those who are interested in Caribou’s history to stop by Celebration Central in the Downtown Mall, which will be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. until early December. You can view and place a bid on any of the large, art-quality historical photos which have been displayed around the city this year. For some of our friends and family, the receiving of one of these photos for Christmas will be an unusual treasure to enjoy for years. This once-in-lifetime opportunity is going fast, so come in and put in a bid while supporting a good cause.
Finally, the community spirit shown throughout this year has been amazing to see and experience. The 150th committee wants to issue a friendly challenge to all Caribou residents to help us to keep this spirit into the new year, and long beyond! We have much to be proud of and to celebrate, and this is one “party” that truly never has to end!
