The Aroostook Retired and Senior Volunteer Program recently held a training and luncheon for volunteers from the Caribou, Fort Fairfield, Limestone, Stockholm and Washburn area with 45 volunteers attending. Eleanor Reese, RSVP director, led the group in an icebreaker event, illustrating how everyone is connected to one another other in their communities through conversation, actions and relationships. Kim Anne Perkins, University of Maine at Presque Isle professor of social work, gave an informative presentation on the five senses that friendly visitors and volunteers can use to help benefit the clients they serve.
