Rep. Bernard Ayotte, right, recently presented Gary Cleaves of Limestone, with a Legislative Sentiment in honor of his retirement from the Maine Military Authority. Cleaves along with his brother, Arthur founded the MMA which opened in 1997 at Loring. The sentiment stated, “We the members of the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Maine join in congratulating Gary on his retirement and sincerely thank him for what he has done for Aroostook County.”

With a wide assortment of items pouring in for the auction, there’s guaranteed to be something for everyone. Between 80 to 100 individuals attended last year’s auction, and this year’s is shaping up to be equally enjoyable.
Limestone Rotarians agreed that it’s a great chance to do some Christmas shopping, auction items range from the ever-popular pancake mix to a free advertising slot with WAGM and including clothing and Maine Black Bear tickets, tools, beauty items and resturant certificates.
Merchants from Van Buren to Presque Isle have donated items to be auctioned off at the Nov. 6 event.
The auction will be held at 6:30 p.m. and is free to attend; dinner before the auction will be held at 5 p.m. and costs $9. Both events take place at the Limestone Community School.
The auction is shaping up to be a good time for a great cause; those interested in additional information may contact Limestone Rotarians Pat Zenzius at 325-4667, Dottie Martin at 472-4191, Pete Huntress at 325-4948 or Cliff Rhome at 325-4019.
