Students, along with faculty advisors gave their time and energy to a variety of projects throughout Aroostook County.
At the Aroostook Wildlife Refuge at the Loring Commerce Centre, students removed barbed wire fencing to allow greater range of movement for wildlife
At the Howell Wildlife & Conservation Center in Amity, the group performed maintenance and repairs to fences and pens.
In Easton, at the Francis Malcolm Institute, students did trail work for the outdoor center.
In Presque Isle, students and faculty volunteered their time at Homeless Services of Aroostook helping to prepare the facility for the quickly-closing winter months.
In Limestone, on the Limestone Community School/MSSM campus, students labored in the name of aesthetics with the beautification of the welcome sign, planting perennials, and building picnic tables.
Venturing over to Fort Fairfield, students picked up wind-blown trash at Tri-Community Landfill.
At the Battered Women’s Project in Fort Kent and Caribou, students and faculty painted a fence at the shelter and put up posters and ribbons to promote Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Also in Presque Isle, students performed trail work at the Nordic Heritage Center and performed regular maintenance and custodial tasks at Martha & Mary’s Kitchen.
