Just in time for the last two weeks before the parade, we ordered two 20-foot banners – full of pictures from the last year of Caribou Celebration – events and activities. After much staff anticipation (really big anticipation), the banners arrived. We did not have any words printed on them on purpose, and we did include many of the event planners, and participants on purpose. Some of the photos were a bit fuzzy, which we knew about, but in the interest of making sure the person was included, we went ahead with them. The answer to the age old question, how many chamber women does it take to put up 40 feet of banner? Why four at least, if that’s what you saw. I thought 10 feet per person wasn’t all that bad for odds… We have experienced some technical difficulties, and plan to correct our sagging issues, ASAP, but nevertheless, the banners went up. The traffic seemed to creep up around the corner last evening, and again this morning. We had one phone call, almost as soon as we were back in the office doors, from one of our favorite Caribou citizens (not on the banners), who just had to call to tell us, “well my goodness … you have 40 feet of love up on the corner! Huh!”
So, if you see someone you know on the pictures, call us or stop in, and we’ll tell you the story which goes with the picture. There’s a story with each one, and we were only sorry we couldn’t include more, and that some weren’t a bit clearer! And we do want an occasion to share some stories! We’ve had such a good time this past year and a half with all the volunteers and participants. Thank you to everyone who’s helped. We’ll see you soon!
