CARIBOU — Interested in the weather of northern and Downeast Maine? The National Weather Service office in Caribou is hosting an open house on Saturday, Aug. 29. Tours will run several times an hour between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Information available at the open house will include a walk-through of the office, information about the National Weather Service and a special weather balloon launch at 1 p.m. Several community organizations will be represented in the tour including police, fire, emergency management, local media and others. The NWS office is located at 810 Main St. in Caribou. Questions about the event can be directed to michael.cantin@noaa.gov.
