Why did this turtle cross the road? Because Pete Lento was there to help it along. Lento was driving to Presque Isle with his family when they spotted the turtle in the middle of the road and stopped to move it out of harm’s way. While the turtle was camera shy, it seemed happier in a patch of grass on the shoulder of the West Gate Road that it looked in the middle of it. An Aroostook Republican employee happened to be driving by in time to witness this random act of kindness.
