Summer programs at Frost Library very creative

“Be creative at your library” was the theme for the 2009 summer reading program at the Robert A. Frost Memorial Library in Limestone. During the month of July, children danced, painted, acted, played and read at the library. Adult readers were also invited to take part this summer, by keeping track of their reading and offering book reviews.

According to staff members, just over 50 patrons participated in the programs which were held during July and the beginning of August. Involvement in a summer reading program is one way to help children maintain their reading skills over the school vacation. The children and adults had an informal contest to see which group could read the most books. The children logged a total of 322 books read to the adults’ 196. A rematch will take place next summer.
