Fox, Elsie L., 78, Caribou, at Caribou, June 13, 2009. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., June 18, from the Chapel of the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.

 

ImageImageImage    Caribou – Elsie L. Fox, 78, died June 13, 2009 at Caribou. She was born in Lancaster, Massachusetts December 12, 1930, the daughter of the late H. Guy and Esther (Hatstat) Loverin. Elsie was a 1948 graduate of Lancaster High School. She served with the US Air Force during the Korean War and was married to S/Sgt Ernest Miller in 1952. They had two children, Thomas and Diane before Ernest died of a heart attack in 1959. In 1967 she married Maurice Fox, who was originally from Perham. They moved to Caribou and had one son Peter. Elsie enjoyed caring for her family, her beautiful gardens and later working with her husband Maurice at his used car business. She was a longtime and devoted member of the Caribou United Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir, served on the board of the church and was a member of the Rebecca Mission Circle.
    Elsie is survived by two sons, Thomas Miller of Gardner, Ma and Peter Fox of Caribou, a daughter, Dianne Miller Hughes of Caribou, one sister, Helen MacBrayne of Lancaster, Ma., three grandchildren; Jessica Miller, Derek Fox and Jared Fox, her former daughter-in-law Lynda Gustafson of Woodland, many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fox was predeceased by her husband Maurice in 1991, a step daughter Carolyn Fox, and four sisters; Gertrude Ranlean, Ruth Turmaine, Carrie Evans and Margaret Zangarine.
    Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009, from the Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. John Kiehn, officiating, assisted by Rev. Josh Burden.
