NHSC Duathlon
    The Nordic Heritage Center is hosting a run/ride duathlon on Saturday, June 13.
    The Event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with a 5 kilometer trail run/walk and the 10 kilometer mountain bike ride following at 12 p.m.     Registration starts at 8 a.m. in the main lodge that morning and the day concludes with a barbeque at 1 p.m.
    While the events are held consecutively, they may be registered for individually as they are two separate events. Participants can do the run/walk or mountain bike, or both events for a combined time.
    Donations will benefit the UMPI ski team and the duathlon is sponsored by the Nordic Heritage Sports Club. For more information please contact Tom Towle at 472-3882.

Youth hockey needs coaches
    Presque Isle Youth Hockey is looking for adults interested in coaching or helping out with its six levels of youth hockey teams. Boys and girls, ages 4-16, participate in a season that runs from October through March. If you have an interest in getting involved, please email aroostookhockey@yahoo.com.

Soccer Officials clinic in New Sweden

    The Northern Maine Board of Approved Soccer Officials will hold a clinic for prospective soccer officials at the New Sweden Elementary School in New Sweden. Bob Stedt will be the clinician.
    The clinic will be held on Saturday, June 20 from 8:30 a.m-4:30 p.m. Any person 18 years of age or older who is interested in officiating the game of soccer and becoming involved with the fastest growing sport in Aroostook County is urged to attend the clinic. There will be a $35 fee for the clinic.
