Woodland science students explain the ‘how’ with ‘wow’

    Eighth grader Kristin Plante received first place for her project on Flammable fabrics at the science Fair at Woodland Consolidated School (WCS) held on April 30.

    Kristin Plante, eight grader at the Woodland Consolidated School, really sparked the interest of the judges with her project on Flammable Fabrics as she won first place.

Eighth grader Logan Sutherland received second place with his project on Alternative Energy. Dylan Conroy, a sixth-grade student at WCS, placed third in the Science Fair with his Voltmeter project. Mackenzie Deveau received fourth place for her project “Does Chocolate make you happy?” Jessica Kovach received fifth place in the Science Fair for her project on stem cell research. Honorable mentions went to eighth-grader Kendra Stephens, seventh-grader Matt Milliard, and seventh-grader Mariesa Sarmiento. Students from grades six to eight presented their topics to teachers, students, and judges Cindy Noyes, Lewis Cousins, and Gary Cole.

Image    While many would argue that any sort of chocolate is enough to make one happy, sixth-grader mackenzie Deveau took the scientific approach to the question with her project, “Does Chocolate make you happy?” Deveau finished in fourth place.
