Westmanland – Evelyn L. Simmons, 83, died November 10, 2008, at her Westmanland residence. She was born in Brunswick August 4, 1925, the daughter of the late Oliver and Viola (Chapman) Groves.
Mrs. Simmons was employed by the Sylvania Lighting Co. in Waldoboro for many years. She married Alton Simmons Sr. August 24, 1945.
Surviving in addition to her husband of over 63 years, Alton of Westmanland are four sons and two daughters-in-law: Richard and Betty Simmons of Westmanland, Alton and Linda Simmons Jr. of Bremen, Ken Simmons of Coventry, CT and Robert Simmons of Holden; one sister, Dorothy Pushard of Warren; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
