7:30 p.m. Church Street — Suspicious Person — An employee from a local business advised police of a male subject lying in the roadway at the rear of the store.
Action — Officer located subject on Lower Washington Street; no warrants on subject but did have a felony history. Subject was mad because employee at the location would not sell him liquor without identification.
Thursday, October 30
6:10 a.m. Sweden Street — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Caller reported a vehicle had run off the road, tearing up the lawn.
Action — Officer check and could see where the subject vehicle had spun up the lawn, throwing dirt into the road.
10:10 a.m. High Street — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Caller advised witnessing a vehicle strike a parked vehicle in the parking lot of a local business.
Action — Officer checked vehicle and found signs of some minor damage; left a note to come to the police station and decide if a report was wanted. Owner of vehicle did not anything done.
12:50 p.m. Grimes Road — Theft — Police were informed of a male subject who was a former employee, still had a card key and a solid key that goes to a business in Presque Isle. Caller stated he had been trying to get the keys back but subject would not take his call or accept his certified letter.
Action — Officer tried calling subject with no results. Police were to go to believed residence to see is subject was home, advising him of the consequences. Subject is on federal probation; probation officer was informed of the issue.
3:28 p.m. Summit Avenue — ATV Complaint — Caller advised that his field is posted for no ATVs and someone was riding in the area, pulling another subject on some type of skis.
Action — Officer check the area but subjects had left prior to arrival.
7:47 p.m. York Street — Criminal Mischief — A caller advised police of a male subject who was destroying a neighbor’s Halloween decorations and who was currently staggering up York Street. Police received a second call from a resident on York who stated the subject was there beating and pounding on things scaring everyone to death.
Action — Police located male subject who had broken the driver’s side window out of a female’s car and needed medical attention. Subject was transported to Cary Medical Center for treatment to his hand and was released to a family member. Subject was summonsed for criminal mischief.
8:33 p.m. Water Street — Check on Well-Being — Caller reported seeing an older male subject on a bicycle down on Water Street, wearing black clothing and she had nearly struck him. Caller advised she had stopped and inquiring if he was all right, mainly because he was acting strangely. Subject had replied that he was OK for now.
Action — When subject was located he had stated he was fine.
Friday, October 31
6:15 a.m. Main Street — Disorderly Conduct — Caller advised of an upstairs neighbor and her boyfriend were having a very loud disagreement.
Action — Officers checked the residence and were informed by both parties it was a verbal disagreement and not physical. Subjects were advised to quiet down or be charged with disorderly conduct.
1:20 p.m. Collins Street — Burglary/Theft — Caller reported items were missing from her apartment. Female advised having left her residence around 3:30 a.m. and her son had left around 8:10 a.m. forgetting to lock the door. Female stated she had returned around 12:30 p.m. finding a laptop computer and a portable CD player missing. Also missing was money from a jewelry box. Other tenants were not at home.
1:25 p.m. Caribou High School — Theft — Female caller reported her daughter was missing her MP3/MP4 player; stating it had been taken on while she was at school. Student had set the item down on her book bag, turned to talk to someone and when she looked back the player was gone. Item described an all-in-one MP3/MP4 Player, camcorder and camera. Serial number will be provided to police. Value said to be $350.
1:35 p.m. High Street — Criminal Trespass — An employee from a local business requested police serve a criminal trespass notice to a male subject. Subject had been coming into the business, purchasing items with a food stamp card, then returning the items for cash. Business manager does not want subject in the store.
2:06 p.m. High Street — Harassment — Female caller was screaming into the phone that another car had tried to run them off the road. She advised they would be pulling into the police station in a minute.
Action — Police spoke with caller and a male friend who stated that they had been heading to Limestone when they had met up with three subjects who were heading into Caribou. The driver of the caller’s car turned around and followed the subject vehicle into a trailer park, driving past a specified residence when an occupant from the subject vehicle threatened to throw a rock. This subject advised police that the male driver had followed them to the trailer park and he had gotten out to see what the problem was but that he was too chicken to stop. Both vehicles drove into Caribou one claiming the other had tried to drive them off the road. Officer issued written warning for harassment and driving to endanger to both parties and issued a summons to first male individual for operating without insurance.
7:14 p.m. Westwind Drive — Theft — A female caller advised while taking her daughter into the house, she had left her groceries and candy outside and some juveniles had come and knocked the groceries over and took all the candy while she was still inside. Caller had no idea who subjects were.
8:57 p.m. Bennett Drive — Criminal Trespass — Caller requested police have individuals leave the gazebo on Bennett Drive as the park was closed and there shouldn’t be anyone there.
Action — Officer sent subjects on their way.
Saturday, November 1
12:20 p.m. West Gate Road — Public Assistance — Caller advised police of a possible intoxicated individual lying in the ditch on the West Gate Road.
Action — Limestone Police Department was dispatched to the scene. Subject was located.
9:35 p.m. Presque Isle Road — 9-1-1 Hang-Up — State Police barracks called requesting police check on a 9-1-1 hang-up residence.
Action — Officer checked the residence and found a young child had been trying to call a parent and had dialed 9-1-1.
11 p.m. Smith Street — Public Assistance — The State Police were notified by the Aroostook Medical Center that they had received a call from a male subject who stated he wanted to harm himself.
Action — Officers located subject on Washburn Street who advised police he was fine and had never indicated that he was going to hurt himself; also present at the address were a male and female; all parties had been drinking.
Sunday, November 2
6:45 a.m. Park Street — Animal Complaint — Caller reported four dogs running loose through his yard and up Teague Street. Police had received other calls regarding the dogs being on Main and Collins streets, Action — Officer saw subjects running behind the houses on Main and Collins and believes they are from that area. Officer would try to locate owner who allows subjects to run loose.
2:35 p.m. North Street — Dogs At Large — Caller stated a male individual on Hillcrest Avenue has a dog that is quite often loose and it chases after her children. On this day the dog had jumped on one of the kids leaving scratch marks from its nails.
Action — Animal Control Officer was advised of the complaint.
3:30 p.m. Bennett Drive — Theft — Police were advised that a female returned some items to a local business, receiving a refund. Employees went to place the items back on the shelves and found the contents of the boxes the returned items were in had been replaced with old used items. Both employees at the business recognized the individual returning the items.
Action — Officer is investigating and will speak with business personnel.
4:20 p.m. Van Buren Road — Criminal Mischief — Caller advised she had been informed by her son that a male individual had come to the residence while she was out and kicked the door in.
Action —Officer found that the son had lied to his mother and blamed the damage on someone else when in fact he had kicked the door in. Female did not want to pursue charges. Subject was issued a warning that should future incidents of this nature occurred, he would be charged for false public report.
7:36 p.m. Pleasant Street — Juvenile — Caller indicated staff members were having trouble with a juvenile who was out of control. Staff had been restraining the juvenile for the last five minutes but he was escalating. Caller requested an officer be present.
Action — Officers went to address to assist.
10:17 p.m. Jacobs Avenue — Suspicious Person — A female caller reported an unfamiliar male was standing in the stairwell. Caller requested an officer be present.
Action — Officers checked the area but did not find anyone matching the description given by the caller.
Monday, November 3
No time given West Gate Road — Burglary/Theft — Caller reported a breakin at a vacant property, possible occurring during Halloween because there were Halloween masks still there. Reported taken were a set of kitchen faucets and the thermostat had been ripped from the wall.
Action — Officer checked the property and it did appear juveniles had been present.
8:15 a.m. Washburn Street — Found Property — Caller advised he was driving by a local business when a vehicle had pulled out of the parking lot, losing a Milwaukee toolbox from the back.
Action —Officer contacted the business who would check their camera to identify vehicle and would return toolbox to owner.
3 p.m. Bennett Drive — Theft — A male caller advised someone had removed political signs on Bennett Drive. Caller was inquiring if the police department had removed them.
Action — Police were notified as to where the signs had been found but no one knew who had removed them. Officer contacted caller who requested they be put back where they had been and he would pick them up the next morning.
Tuesday, November 4
8:52 a.m. Route 1 — Police Information — Caller reported that sometime over the summer someone had taken two old large tractor cylinders from his property in Conner. Caller just wanted to provide the information to police.
Action —Police provided telephone number to the State Police.
9:35 a.m. Route 161 — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Police received a complaint regarding a vehicle traveling from the Stockholm area which was weaving and crossing lines in the road.
Action — Officer located vehicle and was informed by operator the reason for the poor driving was due to the fact she was scheduled for jury duty and had been applying her makeup while driving.
3:15 p.m. Park Street — Disorderly Conduct — A caller from the bus garage advised police of an intoxicated subject walking in the middle of the road, blocking traffic on Park Street. Police also received several more calls regarding subject.
Action — Officer located subject on Glenn Street, speaking with his father. Subject currently lives on Spring Street and officer offered him a ride to keep him out of the traffic and subject declined. Officer advised subject that if there any more complaints he would be going to jail.
