7:15 a.m. Washburn Street — Found Property — An individual brought a bicycle into the police station that had been in back of a building on Washburn Street for about a week. Action — If not claimed, item will be place to bike storage.
8:25 a.m. Liberty Street — Theft — Caller stated his medication was delivered by mail from Togus; when he had checked his mailbox that morning, his medication was missing.
9:25 a.m. Armco Avenue —9-1-1 Hang-Up — Police received a 9-1-1 hang-up from a local business.
Action — Officer spoke with a male individual at the business who said he had dialed the number by mistake. Everything was all right.
9:30 a.m. Van Buren Road — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Caller reported a vehicle following very close from Van Buren to Caribou.
Action — Officer will attempt to locate and speak with driver.
4;15 p.m. West Presque Isle Road — Disorderly Conduct — Female caller requested police come to her residence because a male and female were fighting and arguing.
Action — Two males wanted the female subject out. A cab was called and she left with the understanding that if she returned or called she would be charged.
4:30 p.m. Alexander Avenue — 9-1-1 Hang-Up — State Police reported receiving a 9-1-1 hang-up from an Alexander Avenue residence.
Action — Officer checked and found a child had been trying to use the phone.
6:45 p.m. — Water Street — Criminal Threatening — A male caller advised of a threatening call he had received from a male subject. Caller stated not knowing why the call was made but the subject sounded intoxicated. Requested police to advise caller not to call or bother his family anymore.
Action — Subject stated to police that when he enters a local business he is shown disrespect and he was going to speak to another employee regarding this problem. Officer advised that would be the proper way to handle things. Subject did admit to making the phone call and officer advised him not to call again or he would face charges.
Thursday, October 16
9:51 a.m. River Road — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Caller reported following a vehicle on the River Road that was all over the road and thought operator might have been intoxicated.
Action — Officer checked address to see if vehicle made it there and called and spoke to operator, everything was all set.
10 a.m. Cary Medical Center — Agency Assistance — Police were requested to assist in locating and returning a patient that had walked out of the facility.
Action — When officer arrived patient was by the Emergency Room door.
4;40 p.m. High Street — Harassment — An employee from the Caribou Public Library reported she had met and dated (one time) a male subject earlier this year. Subject wanted more from the relationship than she did and he was told she wanted to just be friends. Subject now shows up at the library almost everyday
employee works and sits at the computer and stares at her. Subject constantly tries to talk to her and she tells him no. Employee stated subject had cornered her one day upstairs in the library. Female has told other employees and they have been witnessing these actions. Female would like it to cease.
Action — Female advised she felt subject would be there on Friday after 4 p.m. Officer will make contact with subject at that time and issue a written warning not to be on the Library property again. Should subject not comply, he will be arrested. Another employee called the police station reporting that subject had arrived at the library and she would like him be told to leave.
Action — Officer located subject on the internet at a dating site, and had him leave the building. The complaint was explained and he was advised that he would summonsed or arrested should he return; was not to follow or harass female. Subject said he understood but would like to go to the library just to use the computer at times female was not there. Officer advised subject to contact the library after some time had passed and see if that would be agreeable. A protection order will be served.
Friday, October 17
6:13 a.m. East Presque Isle Road — Well-being Check — A female called 9-1-1 to report a bunch in her yard had taken the Pick-up ;then she hung up.
Action — Officer would stop by and speak with caller. A call had been made to female’s physician about her medical condition and she will be checked. Officer spoke with female individual, finding no problem other than her imagination.
11: 05 a.m. Powers Road — Found Property — Police were informed of a safe being found that appeared to be abandoned.
Action — Item was a Sentry safe, gray in color with a serial number visible. Estimated size was 16-by-16 by13. It appeared that item had been sitting at location for some time and the door had been removed. Photos were taken and safe transported to the police department.
2:17 p.m. Bennett Drive —Theft — Caller from a local business advised three males had had been at the location and when leaving they had taken two pairs of glasses. Caller gave description of vehicle.
Action — Officer will watch for vehicle.
9:35 p .m. Collins Street — Disorderly Conduct — Caller requested an officer come to his address and have a neighbor turn down their music.
Action — Officer spoke with a female who said she was watching a movie. Sound wasn’t very loud. A tenant at another address had been evicted and was causing problems. She was told to keep it down or she would be charged. A second call came within five minutes of officer leaving; believed to be retaliation.
11:15 p.m. River Road — Disorderly Conduct — Caller reported hearing a lot of hollering and yelling over, coming from the roadway. Caller advised having seen a vehicle with one headlight out then heard a lot of noise, then saw a taxi leaving the area.
Action — Officers located four male subjects.
Saturday, October 18
11;57 a.m. River Road — Violation of Protection Order — Caller reported her ex-beau was sitting across the street at a neighbors residence. He was there to pick up his son but not before noon.
Action — Officer spoke to caller at her residence but could not determine any violation of the order. Male subject said he was there to get his son.
12:58 p.m. Brissette Road — Disorderly Conduct — Caller requested police come to her residence and remove individuals who were causing problems. Problem was related to a hit and run accident which had occurred there the previous evening.
Action — Officers issued paperwork to a male subject for failure to report an accident; all parties left the residence.
Sunday, October 19
12:22 a.m. Skyway Plaza — Disorderly Conduct — Police were requested to be present at a local business where a group of subjects were outside fighting.
Action — Prior to officers arrival all subjects had disbursed, leaving in vehicles.
1;20 p.m. Grimes Road — Criminal Mischief — Caller advised that he had just noticed some items disturbed and missing; also observed that someone attached a small license plate that said ‘Daddy’s Little Girl’, to the temporary plate on his sons car. A tire on the car is also flat.
Action — Officer will check the area. Caller’s son is unsure who would have done that as it was his vehicle. The temporary plate will be replaced. The tire was inflated and did not appear to be tampered with. Caller will call if he finds anything else tampered with or hears anything.
1:54 p. m. Dahlgren Street — Civil — A male, in the process of a divorce, he reported he is in the process of divorce and when he returned home, he found most of the household item were missing. Caller advised he had contacted his lawyer who suggested the police be notified for the record.
Action — A card was made for the record.
2:55 p.m. Belanger Road — Theft — A male caller advised he had some old bricks stored in a field across from his residence and had noticed lately that the pile was getting smaller. Caller stated he’s been trying to catch whoever was taking the items but had been unsuccessful so far. Stated he wasn’t overly concerned about it, but still didn’t want anybody taking from him.
Action — Caller stated to police that he was going to get No Trespassing signs and post the land. Said he would contact the police is he locates anyone. Would also like officers to make a pass by the area when possible.
4:30 p.m. Washburn Street — Disorderly Conduct — Caller reported neighbor kids were riding four-wheelers too close to her property. She believed they were attempting to hit her daughter and would like an officer to check the area.
Action — Officer went to address the concerns and spoke to the two males and their parents about the speed of the four-wheeler. Officer asked them to slow down and to be cautious of the kids playing at the neighboring residence.
5 p.m. Route 1 — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Caller reported while traveling North on Route 1 a vehicle had passed on a double line and after completing pass the operator of subject vehicle stayed in the left hand until it was very close to on-coming traffic.
Action — Officer located subject vehicle. Driver was operating with a suspended license.
Monday, October 20
No Time Given Old Van Buren Road — Public Assistance — A female called from a local business stating that he was locked in the building.
Action — Officer assisted another individual to let the caller out of the building.
5:35 p.m. Washburn Street — Criminal Threatening — A male caller advised he had gone into his brothers ex-wife’s apartment and the neighboring tenant had pulled a handgun on him, telling him he was trespassing. Caller reported this was not the first time this had happened.
Action — Male subject was arrested for criminal threatening with a weapon; had in his possession a loaded weapon.
Tuesday, October 21
8:35 a.m. Plante Road — Theft — Caller advised he had two full gas cans stolen from his garage over the weekend.
Action — Information will be on record for future reference. No suspects at this time.
2:21 p.m. Richards Street — Suspicious Persons — A male came into the police station reporting there were two juveniles jumping on an old car he had parked beside the barn. Individual said he didn’t know who they were or why they were at his residence. Wasn’t sure if they had gone into the barn or not.
Action — Officer to come out to location and look for subjects; also would check the barn. Didn’t appear that anything had been bothered or damaged. Male requested officers watch the area.
