Metrostars 5, Fire 3
Garrison Doody had two goals, Daniel Randolph, Dawson Hebert and Evan Desmond one apiece to lift the Metrostars to the victory. Desmond added an assist, while Seth Biedelman, Megan Dube, Kyra Thibeault and Kristen Sarmiento contributed to the winning attack. Austin Brown, Zach Whitten and Desmond shared the goalie chores for the Metrostars. Brandon Tweed had a first-half goal, while Bailey Griffeth notched the assist and scored twice himself for the Fire. Kaitlyn Nadeau and Blair Tweed also chipped in with assists and Heather LaMothe was the defensive star for her Fire team.
Galaxy 2, Rapids 0
Ashley Matlock scored a goal off an assist from Kyle Soetart-Beaulieu to give the Galaxy the early lead in its win over the Rapids. Matlock also provided an insurance goal in the second half, while Cole Jackson, Noah Heidorn, Camden Huck, Zoe Gerakaris, Paige O’bar, Kirsten Haney and Brandon Morgan all kept their spacing, cut off breakaways, played great help defense and passed the ball in this game better than they had all season.
Rapids 8, Fire 4
The Rapids doubled up on the Fire thanks to a great team effort. Nick Sleeper found the back of the net on four occasions, while Emerson Duplissie Cyr added a pair of goals and Noah Frost and Hope Shea each added a single tally. Nick Pelletier was solid in goal for the Rapids, while Sierra Ouellette and Rachel Soucy were defensive stalwarts. Anya O’Meara had an assist in the contest.
For the Fire, Dylan LaMothe had a hat trick and Bailey Griffeth added the other goal. Gabrielle Marquis had three assists and Griffeth another.
Revolution 5, Metrostars 4
Connor Plourde and Madison Doucette netted the Revolution’s first-half goal, while Josiah Krul netted two after intermission and assisted on another goal by teammate Megan Thornton. Krul was also outstanding in goal before giving way to Kara Madore in the late going and she was also effective. Christine Skidgel, Danielle Hanson and Cameron Langille showed fine hustle throughout.
Austin Brown and Kristen Sarmiento scored first-half goals to pace the Revolution’s attack early on. Daniel Randolph scored off a Dawson Hebert assist.
World League
Chelsea 5, Liverpool 0
Chelsea blanked its opponents behind a three-goal effort by Colby Holdsworth.
Michael Marquis and Kyle Tibbetts also found the back of the net for Chelsea, with Lauren Chapman and Paul Hanson also having some excellent offensive chances.
Dylan LaMothe and Madison Yakel played well in goal for Liverpool and teammate Brandon Levesque did the job defensively. Gabe Massey and Richard Newland had some fine opportunities to score, but were thwarted by the Chelsea defense throughout the contest.. Robert Purkapile, Matt Milton and Sarah Draper all played good games for Liverpool.
Arsenal 1,
Manchester United 0
In a real high-energy contest by both teams, Arsenal prevailed as Hunter Milliard scored a second-half goal off a Kelsie Washington assist for the lone goal of the game. Ethan Plourde got the shutout in goal for Arsenal, while Austin Scott, Donovan Savage, Mallory Patterson and Matt Caron were the defensive leaders for Manchester U.
Liverpool 1, Arsenal 1
Austin Griffeth of Arsenal and Richard Newland of Liverpool exchanged goals in the low-scoring affair.
Brandon Levesque was a defensive leader for Liverpool as he cleared several balls away. Sara Boyer and Eden Howell also helped the cause.
Tyler Dombroski and Ethan Plourde spearheaded the Arsenal team with great defensive play.
Manchester United 5, Chelsea 2
Matt Caron and Karina Patterson had assists, while Dayne Savage scored three times and Donovan Savage and Ben Ezzy one each for Manchester U. Makayla Bouchard and Madison Doody keyed the winning defense.
Katie Pelletier and Paul Hanson had the Chelsea tallies.
