The Loring Job Corps Center will hold its annual open house on Saturday, Aug. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Limestone Commerce Centre. The event will include a free barbecue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., where lunch will be prepared and served by the LJCC culinary students and staff.
As part of the open house, vocational and diversity displays will be available in the community center. In addition, a dunking booth and a fire department safety house will be will be available in the community center parking lot.
The Maine Military Refurbishment Center will offer “humvee” rides.
A scavenger hunt, bicycle rodeo and Shriner clowns will be available to entertain the children attending the open house.
Visitors also can purchase door prize tickets on a wishing well, which was constructed by the carpentry students.
