NEVADA – Patricia E. Runneals, 88, of Nevada, Iowa, died Monday, July 21, 2008, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. She was born December 18, 1919, the daughter of Daniel G. and Ester L. (Ouellette) McGillicuddy. She attended schools in Caribou and Ft. Kent, Maine. Pat married Milliard V. Runneals on May 13, 1944 in Caribou, Maine. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1984.
They moved to Nevada in 1945. Pat worked for R.H. Donnelley Corporation for 13 years, retiring in 1974.
Pat was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Nevada; St. Francis Study Club; VFW Auxiliary; Catholic Ladies and Story County Hospital Auxiliary. She loved her family, grandchildren, shopping, bowling, talking about Maine and talking about and eating lobster and fiddleheads.
Pat is survived by three daughters: Mary Jacqueline Runneals of Nevada, Peggy (Dick) Brandt of Carlisle, Iowa; Fran (Cal) Dunshee of Ames, Iowa and one son: Daniel (Jane) Runneals of Nevada; four grandchildren: Elizabeth Dunshee of Minneapolis, MN, Megan Brandt of Altoona, IA, David Runneals of Nevada and Johnathan Runneals of Nevada; one sister: Marion Pleva of Newark, Delaware and brother-in-law Charles Lockhart of Hillsboro, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Millard and one sister, Frances Lockhart.
Memorial Services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 25th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Nevada. A Vigil Service was at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada with visitation that followed until 8:00 p.m. A Rosary was at 8:00 p.m. following visitation.
