Fancher, Mildred W., 88, Kennebunk, in Kennebunk, June 19, 2008. A graveside service will be held at a later date at East Cemetery in Hollis, NH. Arrangements are in the care of the Bidder Memorial Chapel, Kennebunk.

 

    Kennebunk – Mildred W. Fancher, 88, of Kennebunk, died peacefully Thursday, June 19, 2008 surrounded by family members and friends.
    Mildred was born in Nashua, NH on May 20, 1920, and was the daughter of Ralph and Lillian (Leaf) Wood.  
    Millie attended Nashua schools, graduating from Nashua High School in 1938.  After high school she attended the University of NH and entered the US Navy WAVE’s at Hunter College from 1943 until the end of World War II.
    Millie, along with her beloved husband Robert, was the owner and executive of Robwood Advertising in Nashua, NH from 1958 thru the 1970s until she retired.  She was a member of St. David’s Church in Kennebunk.  She enjoyed classical music, animals and fundraising.
    Mildred was predeceased by her two brothers, Ralph and Fran Wood, and her step-son Ronald T. Fancher.  She is survived by her brother, Donald Wood of Caribou, ME; her step-sons, Robert L. Fancher, Jr., of Barrington, RI; Richard R. Fancher of Bonita Springs, FL; Roger M. Fancher of Olney, IL and her step-daughters, Jacqueline Hagar of Pinckney, MI and Jennifer Rose of Salem, IL; her niece Francine Howe of Hollis, NH as well as 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Millie’s memory can be made to:  Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge, 321 Port Road, Wells, ME 04090 or Maine Public Radio, (MPBN) Membership Office, 65 Texas Avenue, Bangor, ME 04401.
    A graveside service will be held at a later date at East Cemetery in Hollis, NH. Arrangements are in care of Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk.
