    PORTLAND – Charles Ernest “Buddy” Lindberg, 75, of Farmington, died unexpectedly, Saturday, May 3, 2008, at the Maine Medical Center, in Portland.
    He was born on September 26, 1932, on the family farm in Westmanland Plantation in Aroostook County the son of Ernest and Mildred H. (Anderson) Lindberg.
    Mr. Lindberg retired from farming potatoes, dry beans and corn.  He began farming with his father and later went on his own.
    He was an avid reader, enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and outdoor activities, which included skiing, snowmobiling and motorcycling as a young man.  His greatest pleasure was time spent on the farm and experimenting with new farming techniques.
    Charles is survived by his long-time fiancé, Barbara Seamon of Farmington; four sisters, Mavis Schoel of Caribou, Phyllis Philbrick of Milton, VT, Helen Carlson and her husband, Bernhard of Dresden and Loreena Lindberg of Winthrop; nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents.
    Funeral services were held, 2 p.m., Tue., May 6, 2008 at the Wiles Funeral Home, Cremation Service & Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Rd., Rte. 2 & 27, Farmington with Rev. John Tolman, officiating. Family and friends were invited to call at the funeral home 1 p.m. until the time of the service.  Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Farmington.
