Patriotic young ladies recently participated in the Little Miss Poppy Coronation sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Unit 136, of Stockholm. Legion members and their guests were treated to an evening beginning with a spaghetti supper and highlighted by members of the Junior Girls Auxiliary participating in the Little Miss Poppy, Junior Miss Poppy and Miss Poppy Coronation activities.

The junior girls category included the presentation of a poster depicting the symbolic poppy and the senior girls read an essay explaining either what the American Legion means to them or their thought in regard to military troops currently serving active duty.
At the end of each group’s presentation, their names were collectively placed in a bowl with the winner being randomly selected.
