6:10 p.m. Access Highway — Found Property — Female advised police of finding a Maine license plate — Me. PCLLFTBL.
Action — Officer will attempt to locate owner of plate.
Thursday, April 24
3:10 p.m. Route 1 — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Female caller reported following an older vehicle which was traveling all over the road. Caller thought operator might have been on a cell phone.
Action — Officer checked area but could not locate subject vehicle.
4:45 p.m. Coolidge Avenue — Barking Dog — Caller advised police of a dog barking all day.
Action — Officer located animal and will speak to the owners.
9:20 p.m. Washburn Road — Disorderly Conduct — Male caller reported loud music coming from a nearby residence.
Action — Police spoke with subject who had already turned the music down. Subject was told if another compliant were received, a summons would be given.
10:15 p.m. Page Avenue — Attempted Burglary — Female caller reported she thought someone was trying to enter her residence; her dog was going crazy and the door handle was rattling.
Action — Officer checked the residence and surrounding area but could not find any evidence that anyone had tried to get inside nor were there any prints in the snow or tracks in the water on the street.
Friday, April 25
1 p.m. Midland Street — Assault — Caller advised that a male subject had attacked him with a baseball bat.
Action — When officers arrived caller kept referring to the subject as “the guy”, not the name originally provided. Police were unsure at that time who the subject might have been as there was no one else around. A second caller advised the initially named subject was at his residence and everything was all set. Police were waiting for the next call. No charges were given.
3:14 a.m. North Street — Disorderly conduct — Caller advised a taxi dropped off an intoxicated person at her residence and she has no idea who he is and would like him to leave.
Action — Subject had left in a taxi, was picked up on Harvest Road and was then going to Woodland. Cab driver called to inform police the subject was dropped off on the Goodwin Road in Colby.
8:25 a.m. West Gate Road — Animal Complaint — Caller reported having a problem with five or six cats in a local trailer park, getting under his trailer and using it as a litter box.
Action — Animal Control Officer was advised of the issue and he will speak to caller.
7:21 p.m. Access Highway — Phone Harassment — Male caller advised police of a male subject who keeps calling him. Subject is out on bail and is not to have contact with him.
Action — Officer is trying to locate caller.
8 p.m. Superior Drive — Phone Harassment — Female caller reported receiving harassing phone calls from a male subject.
Action — Officer took statements and investigated complaint. Subject was arrested for being in violation of conditional release and also for harassment by telephone.
9:04 p.m. Madawaska Road — Disorderly Conduct — A male caller advised that an individual near-by was playing the drums and had been for the last half-hour straight. Caller would like him to cease, as he has to work soon and was trying to sleep.
Action — Officer spoke with subject and the caller. Neither liked the answer to the problem and subject was told if there were any more complaints about his drum playing or anything else, he would be summonsed. Subject responded that he guessed he would be charged because he was not going to quit playing his drums. Officer told caller that subject had been warned; then told him if anymore complaints in relation to the caller’s cows or his shooting range, then he also would be charged. Caller’s response was to tell officer to leave the property.
10:15 p.m. Liberty Street — Suspicious Activity — Caller advised police of a group of juveniles hanging around in the street in the neighborhood, acting suspiciously and would have an officer check the area.
Action — Officer to make several passes through the neighborhood so subjects will be aware of police presence.
Saturday, April 26
9:55 a.m. Washburn Road — Theft — Male caller reported that at sometime during the previous evening, someone had removed the inspection sticker off his vehicle.
Action — Officer contacted business owners who had inspected the vehicle and they will locate the sticker number and inform police.
12:10 p.m. North Street — Criminal Trespass — Female caller advised a male subject parked in her yard while picking someone up next door. She reportedly asked subject to move and not park there again and words were exchanged. Caller would like subject told not be on the property again.
Action — Officer determined subject was driving with only a permit and will watch for vehicle around town.
Sunday, April 27
12:13 p.m. Jacobs Avenue — Disorderly Conduct — Male caller reported music in the building being played extremely loud.
Action — Officer spoke with subject and advised that another complaint would result in paperwork being issued.
4:10 p.m. Limestone Street — Criminal Trespass — Female caller reported juveniles near an abandoned residence and she thought they were trying to gain entry, and requested an officer speak with them.
Action — Officer spoke with juveniles who stated they were in the beaver damn near the residence. Officer advised them not to return to the property.
5:20 p.m. Route 161 — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Police received a 9-1-1 call from a male individual advising of a car making bad passes and speeding on Rt. 161, heading into Caribou from Woodland.
Action — Officer determined vehicle operator had two speeding convictions in the last year and summonsed him again for speeding and also obtained a written statement from complainant.
Monday, April 28
9:20 a.m. High Street — Criminal Mischief — Police were advised of criminal mischief at the ballfield, where the restroom door had been damaged.
Action — Officer will check to find out the cost of replacement for the door.
9:30 a.m. High Street — Theft — Male caller reported leaving two pellet stoves on his porch and during the previous night someone had taken one of the stoves. The stove was an England brand.
Action — Police determined between the hours of 6-7 p.m. Sunday, there had been a red full-size pickup and a rusty older model red car had been seen in the area.
11:30 a.m. Route 161 – Motor Vehicle Complaint — Caller advised of following a logging truck from Madawaska Lake and it lost a log off the load, nearly striking her vehicle and stated there appeared to be other logs that looked loose.
Action — Officer located vehicle on the Fort Road and spoke to operator. State Police were en-route to check vehicle.
