New Sweden looking for third member

The New Sweden School Board is looking for a third member to fill a vacant seat. Earlier this year, Scott Findlen resigned because of work-related issues and the seat has remained empty, according to Superintendent John Hedman.     There have been a few inquiries regarding the position, which would round out the three-person panel, but no one has been appointed as yet, Hedman said.
Other members of the board are Laurie Spooner and Debbie Eustis-Grandy.
The board appointed Ernie Easter, a teacher at the New Sweden Consolidated School as a representative to the Regional Planning Committee in the school administration consolidation process. Named to represent the public for the town was Andrew McNeally, according to Hedman.
Linda Ross, a teacher, was named to the school’s steering committee for recertification.
The board also approved a bus lease with the town. According to Hedman, the school pays to house the buses at the town garage.
