Chapter meets

    Sept. 18 meeting
    The Maine Epsilon Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held their first meeting of the year on Sept. 18 at the home of Judy Kenney with 21 members and one guest present. Officers for the year are: President Judy Kenney, Vice President Pam Palm, Secretary Lucy Adams, Treasurer Honey Higgins.

    Reports and the schedule for the year were presented and discussed. Betsy Fitzherbert presented a project proposal to the group to sponsor the Miss Presque Isle Scholarship Pageant.
    Happy Dollars were shared and enjoyed. Summer and family events and Secret Sal gifts were shared. Refreshments were served by the Program Committee.
October meeting
    The Maine Epsilon Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held their October meeting at the home of Sue Lougee.
    Reports were presented and discussed.
    The group voted to support a local organization each month this winter to help their cause. Members will bring items to the November meeting in support of  The Battered Women’s Project. The group will not be taking on the Miss Presque Isle Scholarship Pageant as previously decided.  
    Members were pleased to hear of the Robertson Award presented to new member Nancy Nichols. A fun program called The One Pound Auction was held as a fund-raiser. Each took home one pound of an item. Happy Dollars were enjoyed by all. Refreshments were served by Mae Gerrish, Helene Bernard and Linda Swett.
    Each member will bring a favorite recipe to the next meeting for an exchange. The next meeting will be at the home of Tammy Walton on Nov. 20.
