PRESQUE ISLE – Northern Maine Community College’s Edmunds Conference Center will be the host site for a QuickBooks seminar Friday, Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  This seminar will be an ideal training tool for employers or organizations that currently use QuickBooks software, as well as businesses that have not used it before and need to train new employees to learn how to use QuickBooks to its fullest potential. It will also help businesses that are considering the purchase of QuickBooks software make an informed decision.
Presented by QuickBooks ProAdvisor Mary K. Williams, CPA, the seminar will include working with bank accounts, entering sales information, receiving payments and making deposits, analyzing financial data, working with inventory, and many other topics.
Williams has been employed since 2001 with Chester M. Kearney, CPA’s in Presque Isle and has been working with QuickBooks for approximately 10 years. In addition to providing QuickBooks assistance to her clients, she has been instructing a QuickBooks class through NMCC’s Continuing Education Division since 2006. She specializes in small business clients, QuickBooks consulting, tax planning and preparation, and employee benefit plans. Williams serves as the treasurer and is involved with the youth program at State Street Baptist Church. She is also currently serving as the treasurer for the Pregnancy Care Center Board.
According to Sherry Miller-Thibodeau, director of development for Advantage Payroll Services in Presque Isle, “We find that many of our clients use QuickBooks. So, as an added convenience, Advantage is able to provide payroll entries that will automatically post to their QuickBooks.”
Heidi Graham, chief executive officer of Advantage, adds, “We are always looking for ways to make life easier for our clients.”
The cost of the daylong course is $75, which includes both lunch and materials. Net proceeds will be donated to the Northern Maine Community College for scholarships.
