MONTICELLO – Charles J. Carmichael, 89, passed away May 13, 2015, at a local hospital. He was born March 26, 1926, at Monticello, the son of Melbourne and Gladys (Wade) Carmichael.
Charles served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for many years on local potato farms.
Charles is survived by his brother, Vaughn Carmichael and his wife, Jean, of Massachusetts; a sister, Phyllis Burtt, of Leicester, MA, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Ethel Carmichael and Helen Jay.
Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Dunn Funeral Home with the Rev. Jason Rooney officiating. Friends called from 12 noon until time of service. Interment with military honors will take place at Monticello Village Cemetery.
