VaJoWa

We are excited for our 50th anniversary at VaJoWa! The course is drying up nicely and the greens wintered extremely well! In fact, we will be opening the front nine, this Saturday, May 2, for walking only, weather permitting.
Also on Saturday, May 2, we will be having an 8 a.m. “Meet and Greet” with our new club pro Dave Grant, followed by a Clean Up Day from 9 a.m. to noon on the back nine. A free lunch will be provided at The Maine Slice for all those who participate. At 1 p.m., we will hold an opening day nine-hole scramble. Feel free to participate in any or all of these events. What a great way to start off the golf season!
More about our Pro: Dave is a teaching professional certified by the U.S. Golf Teachers Federation. He will be having a Ladies Golf clinic on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. with tee off at 10 a.m. He will also be offering junior golf clinics from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the same day. Dave will be opening and operating our driving range this season. We are very excited to have this feature added back once again. Along with clinics and the range … Dave will be offering lessons by appointment.
We would like to thank our wonderful and supportive members for their support and help on our two work days. Bill Boulier, George Taylor, Warren and Ben Walker all went out on Saturday, April 18 and cleared the rest of the snow off the greens … and as said previously, they have weathered beautifully. Thanks guys!
Last Saturday, 15 members braved the elements and came out for our first Clean Up Day and barbecue. Lots of raking and cutting trees got done on the front nine. A big thank you to the following members for their help: Stu and Becky Kelley, Bill and Lana Robinson, Bill and Connie Hollis, Reid and Logan Stanley, Tim Prescott, Jon Smallwood, Terry Duffy, Heidi Hollis, Warren Walker, Phil Desmond and Pete Lawlor.
