The ladies of the Houlton Council of Catholic Women met in the parish center at St. Mary’s Church on Monday, March 2.
Lynette Dobbs, president, was in charge. Rev. Dave Raymond, moderator, and Deacon Albert Burleigh both were present, as were two guests, Judy O’Mara and Marilu Lamorgese.
Lynette gave a welcome to all present and Mary Grant proceeded with the treasurer’s report.
It was revealed that Madigan Nursing Home Facility is not the place to say the Rosary at this time. Requests were made to say Rosary at home and come to visit residents as time permits. Jane Stiles was thanked for her decorating.
The local Knights of Columbus are looking for sponsors for their booklet. Council will take a half congratulatory page in the booklet.
The Maine Diocesan Council of Catholic Women will meet in Waterville. If any of our Council ladies would like to attend, please let Lynette know.
Our advertisement in the church bulletin is due and we will continue it as it is.
World Day of Prayer took place at the Methodist Church, Houlton, March 6. A copier was purchased for Faith Formation as requested by Charlene, voted and passed as requested.
Janet Barker requested volunteers for the St. Patrick’s Bazaar March 14.
Fr. Dave gave great praise to our Council when he offered words and said to “Carry on.”
Prayers were requested for many different reasons. Birthdays and anniversaries were acknowledged.
The next meeting is Monday, April 6.
