Adopt-a-Block celebrates ‘Christmas on the Blocks’

HOULTON, Maine — This was Adopt-a-Block of Aroostook’s second annual “Christmas on the Blocks.” Gifts and stockings were provided this year by members of both the Houlton Wesleyan and Military Street Baptist churches. There were

over 100 in attendance and families on AABA’s adopted blocks came to enjoy a Christmas party where we were able to offer Christmas ornament decorating, Christmas cookie decorating and free family portraits were offered by Wade Goetsch of Choose This Day Photography.
According to Tammy Goetsch, one of the event organizers, one mom wrote this, “We had a blast! Thank you to everyone who puts this on every year! You all work very hard and do an absolutely amazing job! Merry Christmas!”
“This is why we do what we do at Adopt-A-Block to bring joy to others and to find needs and fill those needs,” Goetsch said. “And the bonus is that we are able to build relationships with the families on our blocks; this is what it’s all about.”
