This month’s SACAP featured artist is Katie Huntley. Katie’s show “Up-cycling, Past, Present and Future” will begin on Friday, Nov. 14. with an opening reception, and will run for two weeks; until Nov. 28.

Katie and her family own and operate Squid Ink Jewelry and their strong ties to Aroostook County, recently prompted her mother-in-law and current board chairperson, Harriet Huntley, to invite Katie to represent her family’s unique style of jewelry-making at the Blue Moon Gallery.
After they were married, Katie lived in Woodland with her husband Akoni who grew up in Sherman. They currently reside in Dover-Foxcroft with their 2-year old daughter Lelah. The entire family … Katie, her husband, and her father Tory Farris; who is a painter and sketch artist still living in Woodland, are involved in making Squid Ink Jewelry a success. Even Lelah, likes to join in!
Their methods have taken them from bead work, to sculpting, and most recently metal working. The work they enjoy most is being able to take a piece of treasured silverware that was handed down from generation to generation and create a beautiful piece of jewelry that will have lasting memories.
The name they have chosen for their upcoming show “Up-cycling, Past, Present and Future” reflects their commitment at Squid Ink Jewelry to preserve nature in all its beauty.
