Inman, Charles P, Jr., 67, March 20, 2014. Interment to be held in Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 will full military honors, followed by the family receiving visitors at the Fort Myers Officers’ Club. PRINCETON, NJ – On March 20, 2014, the Lord called Charles Priestley Inman Jr., 67, known as “CP”, “Chuck” and “Guppy,” home. Chuck perished in a vehicle accident close to his home in Princeton, NJ. The accident also severely injured his wife, Pamela B. Inman, who is still recovering from her injuries. Chuck was born on August 26, 1946 in Richmond, VA to Charles P. Inman Sr. and Evelyn Rose Inman.
Chuck was a highly decorated U.S. Army veteran and served with distinction from 1967 – 1968 in Vietnam where he flew OH-13 helicopters as a CWO in the B Troop 1/9 Calvary under the call sign White 18. He was shot down in February 1968 and spent the next two years recovering in Walter Reed. He earned a Silver Star, a Purple Heart, an Air Medal, and numerous other medals for his service.
After his discharge from the Army, Chuck married the love of his life, Pamela Elaine Buss, on August 29, 1970. They were married for almost 44 years at the time of his death. Chuck earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Richmond and a Masters from the University of Texas in Austin, and went on to become a CPA. Chuck and Pam’s son, Charles P. Inman, III (Charlie), was born March 3, 1975. Chuck taught accounting at the Universities of Texas at Houston, Miami, and Richmond, as well as Averett College. In addition, he worked for Ernst and Whinney, founded his own accounting practice, worked as the operations and finance Vice President for a national paint manufacturing company, and later returned to his home-town of Richmond to run his family’s business (Charles E. Brauer Co.) in 1985. Most recently, he founded South River Personnel & Management Services that serves MoMA in NYC, and is the founder of Battle Against Hunger, a charity that raises funds for hunger relief amongst the neediest citizens of some of NJ and PA’s communities, in accordance with Matthew 25:40.
Most importantly, Chuck loved life and the Lord and all who knew him should have comfort knowing that he is with Jesus face-to-face. He lived life to its fullest, and tried to love his neighbor as himself.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Pam, and their son, Charlie, along with his wife Katie, daughter Sydney (5) and son Andrew (2). He is also survived by his sister, Carol Inman Novak of Rockville, MD.
Chuck will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 11 a.m. with full military honors. Following the interment, the family will receive visitors at the Fort Myer Officers’ Club. A memorial ceremony will also be held on Saturday, July 19 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Cathedral in Trenton, NJ. All visitors are welcome at both ceremonies.
