Danforth man arrested following standoff

  DANFORTH, Maine — A 38-year-old Danforth man was arrested Monday by deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Department after a brief standoff.
Police received a complaint that David Boyington assaulted his girlfriend at their residence. Deputy Dennis Perry of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department and Border Patrol responded to the domestic assault on Springfield Road in Danforth.
Boyington fled the scene and police believed him to be carrying a firearm. Boyington was later apprehended after a brief standoff at the residence of David Cobb. He was transported to Washington County Jail and charged with domestic violence assault, criminal threatening and terrorizing.
Several officers from the Washington County Sheriffs Office and Border Patrol responded to the scene.
