Endodontic, surgical services added to Houlton site
HOULTON — Katahdin Valley Health Center recently received funding from the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation, which enabled the clinic to add endodontic and surgical services on site.
KVHC is committed to providing their patients an all-inclusive dental home under one roof and this funding has supported that mission, according to Durward Humphrey, chief executive officer of KVHC.
Northeast Delta Dental Foundation and Katahdin Valley Health Center are working together to improve access to dental care for the people in Houlton and its surrounding communities. The Northeast Delta Dental Foundation made a generous donation, which enabled Katahdin Valley Health Center to purchase endodontic and surgical equipment for its dental practice in Houlton.
“I am very thankful for the Northeast Delta Dental foundation and their commitment to improving access to dental care in the rural area of Northern Maine,” said Dr. Ben Bringewald, DMD. “KVHC is now performing root canals and extractions of difficult impacted teeth; without the support of the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation these services would normally need to be referred out to other practices which required additional travel and time for the patients being served.”

The new equipment gives us the ability to establish a dental home for all of our patients,” said Humphrey. “We are thrilled to be able to provide a dental home that is equipped to offer services that aid in saving a patient’s tooth. Now that we have these services onsite our patients can avoid any travel expenses they would have incurred in the past to obtain the care they need. We appreciate the donation from the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation and fully support their mission to improve the quality of dental health care for the communities in Maine.”
