The Island Falls Senior Citizens met June 5 at the municipal building with 17 members and three guests present.
After a delicious potluck luncheon, our regular business meeting was held. After the Flag Salute and the Lord’s Prayer, the secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were read and accepted.
It was announced that Matt Furrow is our $250 scholarship recipient for this year, and will be presented his scholarship at graduation by our president, Rich Camire. It was also brought to our attention that a 100th birthday party will be held for Helen Sherman at the United Baptist Church in Island Falls on June 14 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
A discussion of our tax-exempt status was brought up, and more will follow at the next meeting, which will be held June 19.
