Another sunny Sunday in Aroostook County. We are grateful. Kathryn Hall spent the weekend with her mother, Lois Downing.
We are happy to see Evenly Callnan again at the plaza. She has been at Madigan for rehab following broken hip surgery.
A Matter of Balance came to a close Friday when all received certificates presented by presenter Cheryl Driscoll and Lt. Dan Pelletier of the local police department. Lt. Pelletier gave a talk on scams and how not to fall for one. His greatest order was not to give out any information. We had lots to eat, food brought by the members: sandwiches, chips, Jell-O salad, raspberry torte, grapes, cupcakes and all kinds of beverages. All in all it was a great meeting. Forgot to mention Dottie Sines, representative from Presque Isle, made her appearance and Bonnie Pratt from Oakfield. (Bonnie, your doughnuts were delicious.) I might add Cheryl was accompanied by Richard McLaughlin of Houlton.
To all fathers and guardians, have a nice Father’s Day.
We are happy to have Harriet Garnett home. She was away for 36 days following an accident. We are also happy to have Diane Richard home too. She was away since April helping family in Millinocket.
A friend asked the following to be mentioned about holding the date of July 19 for a reunion of Callnan, Saunders, McKinnon, Hawkins, Finnemore, and Clark families to be held at 3 p.m. (potluck) at Maliseet Recreation Center, Houlton. Anyone from these families is welcome.
Charlene, our liaison, and Gayle Toby are taking care of the garden in front of Richer Plaza. It looks good and thank you.
Angels provide a resting place for weary souls on their way to Heaven. “Lord send out your spirit, and renew the face of the earth,” a quote of Pentecost Sunday. Have a safe and happy week.
