Tower, Vicki S. (McRae), 67, January 7, 2014.  A celebration of life will be held Sunday, January 26, 2014 at The Rock Church, 1195 Ohio Street, Bangor.  Arrangements by Brookings-Smith Funeral Home, Bangor.

PT Vicki TowerBANGOR – Vicki S. (McRae) Tower, 67, died on January 7, 2014, at Ross Manor in Bangor. She was born September 11, 1946, in Houlton, the daughter of Dorothy Lunt Saunders and C. Emerson Saunders.
    Vicki graduated from Ricker Classical Institute in Houlton, in 1964. In 1968, she graduated from Ricker College. Following graduation, she worked as a child protection social worker at the Department of Health and Human Services in Portland. She closed out her professional career as a supervisor in child protection services with the Department of Health and Human Services in Bangor.
    After marrying Lincoln E. McRae, III, she resided in Knox County where she continued her work as a child protection social worker at the Department of Health and Human Services and raised two children, Lincoln E. McRae, IV and Shelby Soucy. Over the same time period, she opened her home to several foster children.
    Vicki was a member of a few different churches in Knox County until moving permanently to Owls Head and sub-sequently becoming a full time active member of Owls Head Baptist Church, where she developed numerous lasting friendships.
    She is survived by her two children and their families, who reside in Penobscot County.
