On Dec.15, the Island Falls Recreation Department will host the second annual “Share the Gift of Love” event from 1-4 p.m. at the Island Falls Municipal Building.
There will be many items, some new and slightly used, for kids of all ages to come in and pick out gifts for their families. Organizers will also wrap the gifts until they no longer have wrapping material.
“Anyone that has items they would like to donate, including wrapping paper, gift bags, scotch tape, or new items for children to select for gifts, it would be greatly appreciated,” said organizer Ruth Frazier. “A package of new soxs can be broken up into single pairs for a suggestion. Last year we ran short on men and infant gifts. The kids had a great time last year at this event and so did the volunteer helpers!”
Last year, there were more than 100 children attending and picking out gifts for family members. Frazier said a surprise visitor may also be attending.
