HOULTON – Irene Mooers Burton, 90, died Nov. 20, 2013 at a local hospital. She was born July 30, 1923, at Ludlow, the daughter of Ward and Mildred (Taylor) Mooers.
Irene was a member of the Houlton United Methodist Church.
Irene is survived by her two sons, Larry Burton and his wife Nancy of Hudson, NH, and Alan Burton and his wife Beverly of Melbourne Beach, FL; seven grandchildren, Ann Plamondon, Brent Burton and his wife Jan, all of NH, Julie Scott and her husband Mel, Kathi Arms, Mary Ann Bjorklund and her husband Carl, David Burton and his wife Darlene, Alex Burton and his wife Torrie, all of FL; thirteen great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Oscar Burton in 1998, granddaughter, Alli Rebecca Burton, two brothers, Donald Mooers and William Mooers, sister, Joyce Marie Mooers.
Friends called at the Houlton United Methodist Church on Friday from 12 noon until the time of the service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Patrice Hardy Goodwin officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
