The Houlton Police Department wishes to remind Houlton citizens and those who park in Houlton that the all-night parking ban goes into effect Nov. 1 and will remain in effect until March 31, 2014, for all streets in Houlton.
The General Ordinance of the Town of Houlton (Section 14-520) reads “No person shall park a vehicle on any street in Houlton during the period beginning Nov. 1 and ending March 31.” The Houlton Police Department will be strongly enforcing the parking ban between the hours of 1-6 a.m. during the early morning hours. The ordinance is in effect to allow the town’s Public Works to remove snow. Vehicles in violation will be ticketed. Those vehicles that hinder snow removal will be towed at the owner’s expense.
The Houlton Police Department urges all citizens to comply with the ordinance and appreciate your cooperation.
