K of C vs. Katahdin Trust
At the Pine Street field, K of C took on Katahdin Trust. It was a well pitched game. Cooper Madore threw six innings, and had 17 strikeouts. Oliver Garrish had seven strikeouts in three innings while Ryan Player had five strikeouts in two innings. K of C won 1-0. Hits for K of C came from Madore with two singles and Cole Staples with one single. Katahdin Trust was led by Khasen Lowe with two singles, Garrish with one single and Corrie Kilcollins with one single. Savings Bank vs. K of C
On Wednesday at the Pool Field, Savings Bank took on K of C. Savings Bank won 7-0. Brycen Libby threw a no-hitter for the win. Receiving the loss was Denny Young. Libby had 15 strikeouts. Savings Bank hits came from Josiah Morse with a double and two singles, Libby with two singles, Taylor Williams with two singles and Byron Winslow with a single.
Key Bank vs. Katadhin Trust
On Wednesday night, Key Bank defeated Katahdin Trust, 3-0. Katahdin Trust’s leading hitters were Lowe with one single and Connor Murchison with a single. Alex Brewer hit two singles, Joseph Boone two singles and Natanya Pictou one single for Key Bank.
Savings Bank vs. Key Bank
Savings Bank picked up the 6-5 win over Key Bank at the Pool Field on Monday. Drew Henderson won the pitcher’s duel. Morse hit four singles and David Kofsted singled for Savings Bank. For Key Bank, Alex Brewer had two hits, Sam Gray had two hits and Boone had a hit.
Major League
The Elks continued their winning ways July 21 by topping Rotary 4-3. Tyler Seeley hit a home run and singled to head the Elks with Cushman and Josh Gordon each contributing RBIs. Ryder Soucy scored two runs for Rotary with Cody Lyford driving in a run.
In Major League action last Wednesday, the Elks knocked off Kiwanis with a 6-2 margin. Seeley had four triples, and Hale Cushman made a game-saving catch off a Kiwanis line drive with the bases loaded. Aaron Kofsted anchored a strong Kiwanis defense with several impressive plays at shortstop.
Pony League
Week six of the Pony League started off with the Wildcats taking on Fort Fairfield. Andrew Kofstedearned the pitching win for the Cats, 9-7. Offensively for the Cats, Wilder York had a triple, double and single. Brock Cassidy singled and doubled while Isaac Lajoie added a hit.
In the final day of regular season action, the Wildcats faced off with Mars Hill with both teams tied for first looking to make a separation heading into the playoffs. Mars Hill moved into first place with a score of 8-6.
Brennan Shaw, Lajoie and Cassidy both hit singles for the Cats while Amos Dean chipped in a triple.
Rod Brewer Designs faced off with Ash-Burn in the last game of the season, and picked up the 16-3 win. Jacob Player, Andrew Wilcox, Quinn Graves, Khyver Lowe and Jacob Williams all singled for RBD. Ryan Bernier had a home run, double and two singles.
Swim team
Presque Isle Swim Team, sponsored by Aroostook Savings and Loan, captured first place at the Fort Kent swim meet July 23.
Presque Isle high point winners were Kate Goulet, Leigh Buck, Erica Hemphill, Steve Goulet and Allison Young.

PI Classic bike race
The PI Classic bike race will be held on Sunday, Aug. 3. Registration is at 9 a.m. with the race to follow at 10 a.m.
