HODGDON – Karen Ann Hopkins, 60, died September 12 in Hodgdon. She was born June 13, 1953, in Denver, CO, the daughter of Frederick and Catherine (Deuschle) Dreves. She grew up in Laramie, WY, lived in New Jersey for many years, then moved to Maine in 2000 where she spent her last years in Hodgdon.
Karen had a life-long love of music and animals, especially horses and cats. She was a practicing RN for several years and had a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry for 25 years.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Hopkins of Hodgdon; a son, Michael Hopkins of Hodgdon; two stepchildren, Caleb and Emily Hopkins of Hamilton, NJ; a sister, Mary and Philip Sanders of Ewing, NJ; two nieces, Catherine and Annemarie Sanders; many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her parents.
Friends called from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, September 16 at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton. A mass of Christian burial was held 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Mary’s of the Visitation with Father Dave Raymond celebrant.
