Caribou’s PJ Gorneault was the overall winner of The County Open half-marathon held last Saturday in Island Falls.
Gorneault ran the 13.1 mile course in a time of 1:09:37 and was closely followed by Caribou runner Spencer McElwain who finished with a time of 1:10:11. In third was Curtis Wheeler of Presque Isle, 1:14:19.
The first female to cross the finish line was Gabrielle Wheeler of Presque Isle with a time of 1:29:56, followed by Sarah Mulcahy, Barring Plantation, 1:31:53 and third, Lisa Kingsbury, Hampton, 1:37:15.
The County Open encourages runners to take the survey online, as the committee begins to prepare for The County Open 25th anniversary next year.
