Mildred C. Lewis, 95, went home to be with her Lord July 27, 2013, at a local health care facility. She was born Aug. 25, 1917, at Houlton, the daughter of Angus and Nellie (Farrar) Varney.
Mildred attended Houlton Schools and was a 1936 graduate of Houlton High School. She was a past member of the Houlton Rebekahs’ Lodge and the American Legion Aux., a member of the Military Street Baptist Church, and a very loving mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. Mildred was a lovely homemaker and fantastic cook and she put her skills to work at the Houlton High School Cafeteria for over ten years.
She is survived by her son Evan, and his wife, Wendy, of Littleton; daughters, Debra Hahn and husband, Drew, of Phippsburg, Patricia Lewis of Houlton; grandchildren, Peter Lewis and wife Sara of Winthrop, Corey Lewis and girlfriend, Elise Peters, of Bath, Travis Hahn and wife, Beth, of Saco, David Lewis and wife, Lyndsie, of Reading, MA, Morgan Hahn and partner, Jeff Nunez, of Astoria, NY; great-grandchildren, Zoey Elizabeth Lewis and Oliver Michael Hahn. She also leaves her special friends Orin and Lori Putnam and her Gardiner Health Care Family who took such wonderful care of her. She was predeceased by her husband, William Eddie Lewis.
Friends called at Dunn Funeral Home 12 noon Tuesday until time of service at 1 p.m. Interment followed at the Houlton Evergreen Cemetery.
