Sunday afternoon couples had 25 golfers this week with Ralph and Val Powers taking first place. This is the third week in a row win for Val. Second place went to Bev Osborn and Greg Gayne and Peter and Carol Blood and coming in third was Stu and Becky Kelley and Kerry and Karen McNally and Lloyd Fredericks. The format this week was an alternate shot and partner swap every other hole. The couples get very creative to make each week interesting and fun for all.
Don’t forget about the County Open coming up this weekend with a kickoff 18-hole scramble at VaJoWa on Friday, Aug. 2 with a 12 p.m. registration and a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
The County Open championship will be played on Saturday and Sunday with 18 holes at VaJoWa Saturday and 18 holes at Houlton Community Golf  Club on Sunday. Proceeds from this tournament are to benefit the Houlton Regional Health Services Foundation. Let’s hope the suns shines on this great event for a good cause.
