Editor’s note: The following article is a synopsis written by staff members and volunteers of the Cary Public Library highlighting one of the suggested reading books, as determined by their staff.
Maine’s own Ryan Higgins has written a wonderful book about a giant.

You may have heard of “Wilfred” (That’s the giant.) by now or please soon check out this book for you and your family. Heart-warming and clever with original drawings, this book encompasses greed, good deeds, egotism, acceptance, and the love children express so well. A whole town must come together to save one of their own and as the story ends – well, you can zip it up…
Cary Library’s Summer Reading Program has begun registration and what a great time we have hearing childrens’ reports on their favorite stories!
The Cary Public Library is open Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 532-1302.
