Local gospel group, Heart of Praise, will appear at Houlton Full Gospel Assembly, Outer Court Street, Sunday, June 30 at 11 a.m.
Well-known in the Houlton area, this is the group’s only scheduled appearance in the Shiretown. The group travels throughout Maine and New Brunswick, and is currently near completion of their first studio recording project. Scheduled bookings, project status and other details are available on the “Heart of Praise” Facebook group.
Heart of Praise’s appearances combine a variety of musical styles including: traditional, southern gospel and contemporary genres, with the added dimension of the founders’ teen-aged children featured as soloists on select songs. These teens serve double duty as they also provide live backup music for the group. Most evident, however, will be the group’s genuine, heart-felt delivery of the gospel message portrayed through their song selections.
